I

Here’s your proofread and cleaned version with improved grammar, punctuation, consistency, and flow. I’ve kept the original tone intact (important for a speech transcript) while removing clutter and fixing errors.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP:
Thank you, Lee. Isn’t he great? That’s such a great opening. We love you, too. We’ve got a lot of people here—great people. Thank you very much, and thank you for allowing me to win this state by such a large margin. I wouldn’t say the competition was the toughest, but it was competition nevertheless, and we appreciate it very much.
We’re going to be talking about no tax on tips. We’re also talking about the fact that everybody is looking at their tax returns and getting tremendous refunds—much more than they expected. So, it’s great to be back in a place I love: Las Vegas. I did a lot of business here and had great success here. Before politics, it was fantastic.
This is the birthplace of a little idea known as “no tax on tips.” A young waitress came up to me during dinner and said, “Sir, we should have no tax on tips.” I said, “What? Say that again.” She repeated it, and I said, “That’s the greatest thing I’ve ever heard.” I walked outside to the media and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, there will be no tax on tips.” That was it—no expensive consultants needed.Las Vegas is home to the largest concentration of tipped workers anywhere in the country—arguably the world. Thanks to our tax cuts, thousands of Nevada workers—waiters, waitresses, casino dealers, bartenders, bellmen, barbers, caddies, and valets—have received the biggest tax refunds of their lives. And I just want to say: you’re welcome.Even the media—yes, even the so-called “fake news”—are saying, “Wow, this is really amazing.” It’s a great, big, beautiful bill. And that’s what it is—a massive tax cut, along with major regulatory changes. The tax cuts, especially, are enormous.
It’s such an honor to be here. I want to thank Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for joining us—he’s become quite a star. Also joining us:
And many others. We have a lot of important people here today.
Last summer, thanks to Republican majorities in the House and Senate, I signed the “great, big, beautiful bill”—the largest tax cut package for working families in U.S. history. It combined about 19 different bills into one comprehensive package.Every American, at every income level, has more money in their pocket this week because of these policies. But we must win the midterms—otherwise, these policies could be reversed, and taxes could rise dramatically.
The average refund this season is over $4,000. In Las Vegas, many workers report refunds of $5,000, $6,000, $7,000, or even $8,000—amounts they’ve never seen before. In addition:
These three policies are making a huge difference.
We’ve also eliminated inheritance (death) taxes for small businesses and farms. Previously, families were forced to borrow heavily just to keep their farms, often leading to bankruptcy. That burden is now gone.
Earlier this week, I met Sharon Simmons, a grandmother driving DoorDash to support her husband’s cancer treatment. She unexpectedly received $11,000—money she didn’t even know was coming. It turned out to be a life-changing moment for her.
We introduced:
This is a major benefit for middle- and working-class Americans.
Tariffs are bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. Companies that produce domestically avoid tariffs, while those that don’t must pay. As a result, we’re seeing massive investment—especially in industries like pharmaceuticals.
Our military is the strongest in the world. We have the best equipment, and our defense capabilities are unmatched. Around the world, the United States is respected again.
We’ve reached record highs in the stock market, including the Dow hitting 50,000—an unthinkable milestone just a few years ago. Inflation is decreasing, and energy prices are stabilizing.
Over 12 million small businesses have benefited, saving an average of $7,000 in taxes. The economy is booming as a result.
This is a special place—Las Vegas, Nevada—and we’ve done very well here. These policies—no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security—are putting money back into people’s pockets. The country is doing very well. We are respected all over the world—perhaps like never before.Thank you all. God bless you, and thank you very much.
