Special Seminar Organized by Sundas Foundation with Participation of Educationists, Journalists, and Social Leaders
Lahore: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, Sundas Foundation organized a special seminar at the Children’s Library Complex, Lahore, focusing on voluntary blood donation and the challenges faced by patients suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia.The chief guest of the event was Mr. Sun Yan, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore. Distinguished participants included renowned journalist and Patron of Sundas Foundation Sohail Warraich, Founder and President of Sundas Foundation Muhammad Yaseen Khan (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), Director Sundas Foundation Khalid Abbas Dar, Director Special Initiatives Punjab Education Foundation Nusrat Baqi, along with educationists, social personalities, and individuals from various walks of life.Addressing the seminar, Chinese Consul General Sun Yan stated that blood donation is a noble act recognized and valued equally by all religions across the world. He said that people become doctors, engineers, and professionals in different fields, but when a person donates blood, they directly contribute to saving human lives. He described voluntary blood donors as the true heroes of society.Speaking about Pakistan-China relations, Sun Yan said that the friendship between the two countries is not merely strategic or diplomatic in nature; it has become part of the culture and spirit of both nations. He emphasized that this is not simply a friendship between two countries but a bond built upon humanity, mutual trust, and shared progress. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to continuing cooperation and investment in Pakistan’s healthcare sector to help improve healthcare facilities for the people.Renowned journalist and Patron of Sundas Foundation Sohail Warraich paid tribute to voluntary blood donors and emphasized that promoting humanity and social welfare is essential for building a healthy society. He appreciated the services of Sundas Foundation, calling it a beacon of hope for thousands of patients.Founder and President of Sundas Foundation Muhammad Yaseen Khan (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) stated that the lives of thalassemia and hemophilia patients depend heavily on voluntary blood donations. He urged every member of society to contribute to this noble cause so that no patient has to suffer due to a shortage of blood. He also thanked the honorable guests, participants, and volunteer donors, adding that Sundas Foundation has been serving humanity for decades and will continue to expand its services in the future.Director Sundas Foundation Khalid Abbas Dar and Director Special Initiatives Punjab Education Foundation Nusrat Baqi also addressed the audience, stressing the importance of promoting social responsibility, volunteerism, and blood donation among the younger generation.At the conclusion of the event, Founder and President of Sundas Foundation Muhammad Yaseen Khan presented a commemorative shield to the chief guest, Chinese Consul General Sun Yan, on behalf of Sundas Foundation.
