Lahore: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a dignified ceremony to mark International Women’s Day, presided over by its President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol.The event was attended by Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, Vice President Khurram Lodhi, Consul General of Türkiye Mehmet Emin Simsek, Parliamentary Secretary for Women Development Department Punjab Salma Saadia Taimur, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka Yasin Joiya, and Director General TDAP Rafia Syed, along with other distinguished guests.Former office bearers including Ali Hissam Asghar and Haris Ateeq, Women Committee Convener Firdous Nisar, and Executive Committee members Amina Randhawa, Aamir Ali, Manzoor Hussain Jafri, Karamat Ali Awan, Shaban Akhtar, Fayaz Sheikh, Irfan Qureshi, Umar Sarfraz, Rana Nisar, and others were also present on the occasion.In his address, President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol stated that the Lahore Chamber is celebrating Women’s Day for the second time and firmly believes in the potential of women. He emphasized that women play a pivotal role in the development of society.He further highlighted that nearly 65% of Pakistan’s population consists of youth, with a significant proportion being women. By effectively utilizing women’s potential, Pakistan can achieve rapid economic growth and sustainable development.The event aimed to highlight the role of women, encourage their participation, and promote their active involvement in economic and social development.
